In the
letter, the Appellate Body explained that it is adopting amendments that
modify the deadlines for written submissions during an appeal and explicitly
authorize the filing and service of written submissions in electronic form.
These amendments are a modified version of those first proposed in a
letter
to the DSB Chairman that was circulated to Members on 12 January 2010, and
have been adopted following a process of consultation with the
Director-General, the Chairman of the DSB and, through the DSB Chairman,
with WTO Members.
The full text of the amended Working Procedures
for Appellate Review will be circulated on 16 August 2010, and the modified
rules will apply to appeals initiated on or after 15 September 2010.
