Spain donates 192,000 euros to WTO technical assistance and training activities

The Government of Spain pledged a contribution of 192,000 euros (CHF 290,000) to the WTO technical assistance fund.

On 7 July 2004, the Government of Spain made a contribution of 192,000 euros (CHF 290,000) for 2004. This donation is earmarked to finance two Latin American and Caribbean technical assistance activities that will take place in the second half of 2004 and three Spanish distance learning CD-ROMs.

“I thank Spain for its generosity,” said WTO Director-General Dr. Supachai. “Thanks to such contributions, we have been able to significantly increase the WTO’s technical assistance and training activities with a positive balance between regions.”

This new donation have brought the total contributions pledged by Spain to the Doha Trust Fund to more than CHF 750,000 since 1995.
