Overview of Activities of the WTO

    Under this item of the agenda, Ministers will have the opportunity to review the operation and functioning of the multilateral trading system and to make general statements related thereto. In doing so, Ministers will consider a report of the General Council on activities of the WTO in 1995 and 1996 as well as a report by the Director-General on recent developments in international trade and the trading system See footnote 1.

Action by Ministers

    Ministers are expected under this item of the agenda to adopt a Ministerial Declaration and take any other action which they may deem necessary for the future work of the WTO.
